“To confirm the rumours, Twitter has announced that it is easing its 140-character limit for tweets and is going to stop counting photos, GIFs, videos, polls and tagging other users (@) in its character limit, and so they will no longer “use up” valuable characters. This will allow users to now add links, attachments and some other features within the short messages, and have room for everything to fit alongside whatever you are wanting to write, making it even easier for people to communicate with one another on the social media service.”
